This model is not following a specific original. It shows a general stake wagon with four axles.
The stakes on the side can be folded down or removed completely as you want and need it.
The platform is seven studs wide and flat. Ideal to place different goods, such as trunks or containers.
Some studs in the platform will help to fix the goods if needed.
MOC stats:
Length: 35.4 studs
Width: 9.0 studs (platform 7 studs)
Height: 10.5 studs
Weight: 300 grams
Parts: 506
About “R40” Edition:
Since the curve radii of most track manufacturers are very small – down to R40 (40 studs) and sometimes even smaller - it is difficult to run trains with long wagons or locomotives as we can find them with real trains. Also, most of the train enthusiasts have limited space only and on small layouts the train length is limited too.
Models of the new “R40” Edition look like their bigger brothers and sisters, with the same level of details of course but a reduced overall length to allow a smooth passing of tight curves. In addition, the cornering does not look so stupid because the overhang in the inner radii is not that big. The reduced length allows more wagons per train for smaller layouts.
Train vehicles fitting to this new concept will indicate the “R40” logo on the cover page of their respective instruction.
All my other models can also drive through the tight curves. This is technically feasible. Visually, however, it looks questionable.
