The City-Express (German: Städte-Express) was the highest quality train connection until 1991 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn (East German Railway). The train connected East-Berlin with other important cities in the country. Each of these trains included a dining car.

My MOC contains 4 wagons: one 1st class coach, two 2nd class coaches and one dining car. The original trains were longer but for Lego®, I decided to have four wagons only. This is long enough already. Of course, you can add 1st and 2nd class wagons as you wish, but the buffet car is only one per train ;-)
Each wagon has the typical colour-scheme of these trains and is equipped with interior but, I didn’t focus on placing minifigs inside the coaches. If you want to do so, feel free. I am sure, there are ways to do it.
The dining car can get the signage “Speisewagen” (German for dining car) or “Mitropa”, the catering company of East Germany (after the 2nd World War).

I provide a detailed step-by-step building instruction. At the end of it, you find an overview of all needed parts.
A print-ready sticker sheet is available too (in case the model contains stickers). I provide it in the widely used PDF-format in high-resolution and print-ready.
Furthermore, I provide the parts list in Excel format. This makes it easy to filter out needed parts and create order lists.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any damages or injury on parts and humans happen while following my instructions. Everything you do is your responsibility and under your personal risk.
